Intelligent 4X4 system

Assists drivers in smooth cornering by adjusting power output to the front and rear wheels

The vehicle predicts the cornering line that the driver expects and adjusting torque distribution for a natural and smooth cornering line, even on slippery road surfaces.

System operation

Intelligent 4X4 automatically controls torque distribution between the front and rear wheels to provide cornering in-line with the driver’s intentions predicted by the steering wheel input. Vehicle yaw movement control technology, realizes smooth, ideal cornering while turning.

System mechanism

The Intelligent 4X4 system analyzes input from the steering angle sensor which measures the amount of steering wheel input by the driver, the yaw rate sensor which detects vehicle movement, and the vehicle G sensor.
By analyzing in real time, the system judges the driver’s intended cornering line and adjusts the torque distribution of the front and rear wheels (ranging from 100:0 to 50:50, front to rear) to give smooth, stable cornering, even on slippery road surfaces.
