Nissan Midterm Plan History

Nissan has implemented six midterm business plans after its alliance with Renault in 1999.

From FY2000 to FY2001 Nissan Revival Plan Aim: Revival of the company
From FY2002 to FY2004 Nissan 180 Aim: Complete revival on track for profitable growth
From FY2005 to FY2007 Nissan Value-Up Aim: Increase value with sustained performance
From FY2008 NISSAN GT 2012 Aim: Return the company's long-term performance combined with its responsibilities to stakeholders as a significant global business.
  • In February 2009, the plan was suspended due to threats posed by the global financial crisis, a severe economic recession and volatility in foreign exchange rates. To counter the volatile environment, Nissan implemented a corporate recovery plan that focused on the actions necessary to ensure a prompt recovery of results, including solid cost controls.
From FY2011 to FY2016 Nissan Power 88 Aim: Accelerate the company's growth across new markets and segments.
From FY2017 to FY2020 Nissan M.O.V.E. to 2022 Aim: Achieve sustainable growth and lead the technology and business evolution of the automotive industry.
  • In May 2020, Nissan unveiled a business transformation plan called Nissan NEXT aimed at prioritizing sustainable growth and profitability.
