Trends in global sales

Here are sales results and the top three best-selling Nissan models in each of our four major markets (Japan, China, the U.S. and Europe ) in fiscal 2017.

In FY 2017, Nissan's global sales volume rose 2.6% from a year earlier to 5.77 million vehicles.

Japan

Total industry volume in Japan increased 2.4% from a year earlier to 5.20 million vehicles. Nissan sales rose 4.8% to 584 thousand vehicles, equivalent to a market share of 11.2%, up 0.2 points.

China

In China, where our sales are calculated on a calendar-year basis, total industry volume rose 1.8% from a year earlier to 27.4 million vehicles. Nissan sales increased 12.2% to 1.52 million vehicles, equivalent to a market share of 5.6%, up 0.6 points.

U.S.

In the U.S., total industry volume fell 1.0% from a year earlier to 17.3 million vehicles. Nissan sales increased 0.7% to 1.59 million vehicles, equivalent to a market share of 9.2%, up 0.2 points.

Europe

In Europe, excluding Russia, total industry volume increased 1.5% from a year earlier to 18.3 million vehicles. Nissan sales fell 4.6% to 652 thousand vehicles, equivalent to a market share of 3.6%, down 0.2 points. In Russia, total industry volume rose 16.9% to 1.67 million vehicles. Nissan sales rose 12.0% to 105 thousand vehicles, equivalent to a market share of 6.3%, down 0.2 points.
