Industrial model

As our portfolio sharpens, our industrial model must evolve alongside it—shifting from incremental change to a fundamental redesign. This is where the Nissan Product Family strategy transforms how we develop, source, and manufacture.

Speed of development

By organizing development around clearly defined vehicle families, we embed speed early in the process. Standardized architectures, shared components, and common toolkits allow teams to work in parallel across multiple vehicles, rather than sequentially model by model. This structural shift reduces development time by 40 percent, bringing time to market down to 30 months.

Product families

Concentrating volume on product families increases commonality across models while preserving differentiation where customers experience it. Three product families will account for more than 80 percent of our volume. From fiscal year 2028, the new FRAME family in the United States and the Compact family in Japan will be delivered on this foundation. This approach increases volume per model by more than 30 percent, strengthening competitiveness across the full product lifecycle.
