Espinosa was appointed president and chief executive officer of Nissan in April 2025, stepping into the role at a pivotal moment for the company.
On taking the helm, he formulated and launched Re:Nissan, a bold and comprehensive recovery plan designed to reduce costs, redefine Nissan’s product and market approach, and strengthen both longstanding and emerging partnerships.

Akashi became chief technology officer in April 2025, overseeing Nissan’s global research and development.He leads vehicle innovation across all segments, from compact kei cars to high-performance sports models. As a member of Nissan’s Executive Committee, Akashi plays a central role in advancing the Re:Nissan strategy through technology leadership and product transformation.

As Nissan’s chief of monozukuri -the company’s philosophy of craftsmanship and manufacturing excellence- Hirata oversees global manufacturing and supply chain operations, guiding every stage from vehicle manufacturing development to market launch.

Papin was appointed Nissan’s chief financial officer in January 2025.
In this role, he is responsible for global financial management of the company, leading key functions, including financial controls, balance sheet management, debt finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax & customs, investor relations, and advancing the use information technology in financial systems.
