“NV200 VANETTE” Vehicles Donated to Eight Towns in Futaba District, Fukushima Prefecture

In November 2014, Nissan donated a small multipurpose commercial vehicle, “NV200 VANETTE,” to each of the eight small towns in Fukushima Prefecture’s Futaba District.

After the earthquake, administrative managers and working facilities for each of the Futaba District municipalities were dispersed both inside and outside of the prefecture. This forced a great deal of travel in order to deliver essential services to the residents of the disaster areas, and to maintain routine communications between various local governments. The donated vehicles were utilized by local personnel to facilitate the execution of all these duties.

When these vehicles were donated, Alpine Electronics, Inc., cooperated by providing navigation systems for all eight vehicles at no cost.
