The third generation Bluebird 510 was rolled out in August 1967 and immediately acquired a very good reputation because of a sharp body shape with no ventilation windows, high basic performance and usefulness realized by advanced mechanisms such
as the OHC engine and four-wheel independent suspension. The global sales reached more than a million and a half in 5 years.
Many people still call it "Five-Ten," an endearing nickname. This model was highly esteemed in the motor sport scene for the overall victory at the 18th East-African Safari Rally in 1970. Some people even said that this model had rewritten performance
criteria of this class.
