Datsun Bluebird 1200 Standard (1959 : P310)

The name "Bluebird" was born in August 1959. It was a passenger vehicle of the new generation. The first generation was model 310 which indicated that it replaced Datsun 1000 sedan (210 and 211). Its well-proportioned styling designed by Shozo Sato of Nissan got favorable reviews and it was given an endearing nickname after the shape of tail lamps.

Mounted engines were 4-cyl. in line OHV of 1000cc-38ps (passed down from 1000 sedan) and 1200cc-43ps. Newly adopted front-wheel independent suspension realized much more comfortability. Body types were 4-door sedan and "estate wagon" that was added in July 1960.

This is a sedan of the early days with 1200cc engine.
