In 1989 Group C cars evolved into the monster machine "Nissan R89C" with the max. power of more than 800ps by switching the chassis manufacturer from March Engineering Ltd. to Lola Cars International Ltd. and changing 3-liter engine to 3.5-liter VRH35 (V8 DOHC). Its main features are more sleek-looking exterior and a fullscaleimplementation of the telemetry device. In JSPC, it made a debut at Round 3:Fuji GT 500mile Race. At Round 5:Fuji GT 1000km Race, Car No.24 YHP (the drivers Masahiro Hasemiand A. Olofsson) finished 8th and showed a glimpesof its potential.
This is the genuine machine of No.23 Calsonic Nissan R89C steered by Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Toshio Suzuki.
