In the updated Serena, its low-fuel consumption (S-HYBRID) is further improved while maintaining interior roominess. Advanced safety equipment such as Emergency Brake and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) that support collision avoidance is adopted as standard features in all grades except for 20S.

Exterior design has been fully updated from the front to the rear. The Highway STAR grades have been significantly renewed with front grille and aluminum wheels expressing presence and power, while the hood, fenders, and side sill protectors deliver a dynamic look and feel. In addition, the new LED rear combination lamps offer a premium feel.

To further improve comfort and user-friendliness, a range of equipment is added, including super UV-cut heat insulated green glass for the front doors, front glass with top shade that provides both open feeling and anti-glare function, and personal tables for the third-row seats.

Executive Vice President Takao Katagiri, responsible for the Japan-ASEAN region and Japan sales and marketing, said, "The Serena is an exemplary vehicle that exhibits the qualities of our slogan, 'Memories over Material.' We placed great thought towards what this generation seeks in an automobile, and with that, created this vehicle that we hope can be an instrument to help families come together and enjoy their time as one. We are happy to introduce the Serena to our customers in Japan with a message that strongly says our car delivers on the safety and reliability sought by families of today."

Exterior design with a dynamic and premium feel added to elegance and gracefulness
Exterior design expresses strength and a premium feel as well as elegance and gracefulness that are highly regarded by minivan customers. The design of headlights has been changed to a stylish two-stage type that gives an imposing impression, and LED headlights with signature lamps are newly offered as an option, a design feature that is more advanced than before.

In the Highway STAR version, the front grille design has become three-dimensional with presence and power. A sporty design version of 16-inch aluminum wheel characterized by the shine of the cutting surface is also adopted. LED rear combination lights adopt new design featuring S-shaped line. When the lights are on, they help enhance the premium feel. Side sill protector with energetic design in accordance with a line flowing from front bumper expresses dynamism. These have significantly evolved the exterior design.

The body color of the model to be displayed is Tiger Eye Brown, which accentuates the look of boldness of the Highway STAR with fierceness and depth of tiger eyes. The updated Serena adopts five new colors including Tiger Eye Brown, Blue Moon White Pearl (which enhances the advanced image of S-HYBRID), and Diamond Black, offering an improved sense of quality using pearl black. In addition, two warm colors are added; Premium Deep Coral which provides rich gorgeousness inspired by coral and gives an active impression, and Rose Bronze, which is feminine and soft with a natural and elegant touch.
