The changes to the updated models are designed to enhance Elgrand's reputation as the ultimate King of Minivans.
The Elgrand has a powerfully styled large front grille fully surrounded by chrome plating which creates an exterior that offers a strong presence and a luxury feel. Its high-quality luxury interior is competitive in its class while the addition of a sliding function to the third-row seats creates larger luggage space, improving user-friendliness.
Executive Vice President Takao Katagiri, responsible for the Japan-ASEAN region and Japan sales and marketing, said, "The Elgrand has established new ground in the premium minivan market and has been a segment leader since the very first model. The Elgrand has embodied a pioneer's spirit, continuing to provide new values for the benefit of our customers. It continues with a comfortable interior, excellent power and dynamic styling, but now, with a new elegant exterior design and improvements to the luggage space further expanding its versatility, the Elgrand is better than ever, allowing it to take its rightful place atop the segment as the "King of Minivans." We hope you will be excited as we are about our newly envisioned Elgrand."
Significant Change in Exterior Design Creating Strong Presence (All grades except for 250XG)
On the exterior, the design of the headlights, front grille and front bumper are all refreshed. Combining a larger front grille fully surrounded by chrome plating provides an imposing appearance and a luxury feel. With newly-designed headlights that come with signature lamps suggesting the "piercing gaze," the exterior provides massive presence. With available headlights with Active Adaptive Front-Lighting System adopting LED for the first time in its class, the Elgrand helps provide drivers with improved visibility at night and in the rain. Rear combination lamps are newly designed with clear lamps. Dedicated 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels also adopt a new design with multi-spoke whose ground surface expresses craftsmanship and a luxury feel.
A new exterior color, Imperial Amber, is created for the updated model. This strong color inspired by amber that takes a long time to mature, expresses the presence of Elgrand.
High-quality luxury interior that outpaces others
A Grand Black Interior for the advanced Highway STAR Premium grades are newly adopted. Offering exclusiveness and a full range of accessories, Grand Black Interior has a combination of dedicated deep wood grain accents with colored chrome and dedicated black metallic leather appointed seat with elaborately-made amber accent and diamond-shape quilted pattern with special stitches. This premium interior option, previously not available in 2.5-liter engine models, is now available in the upgraded Elgrand. The Ebony wood grain accents, giving a dynamic feel to the cabin is combinated with seat material of enhanced texture for Black/Dark Bay Brown Interior for Highway STAR grades. An advanced Drive Assist Display with 5-inch color display is located between newly designed twin meters, the speedometer and tachometer.
Large luggage space created by adding a seat sliding function to the third row seats and improved interior user friendliness
By adding a seat sliding function to the third-row seats, which can move seats forward by up to 240 mm, the length of rear luggage space can be increased even when the third-row seats are occupied. It allows loading of six golf bags or other large items such as strollers, cardboard boxes and other cargo. By lowering the level of luggage board in the rear luggage space to the floor level, more items can be loaded without opening the luggage board. Various operations for the third-row seats also are now easier.
With increased interior height, passengers can move easily and smoothly within the cabin when walking through it. Additionally, head clearance in the front seats is significantly increased, enhancing a sense of openness. (Excluding models with sunroofs)
Cruise Control is adopted as standard in all grades.
At the Tokyo Motor Show this year, Elgrand 250 Highway STAR Premium will be displayed.
The updated Elgrand is designed to satisfy customers that wish to own a king of minivan with an aggressive presence.
