As the second Nissan EV to be marketed globally, the e-NV200 joins Nissan LEAF to further solidify Nissan's Zero Emissions Mobility leadership, while making an innovative impact on the LCV market.
Built on the proven platform of Nissan NV200 LCV van marketed in more than 40 countries and regions, the e-NV200 incorporates Nissan's EV powertrain technology to deliver the best of both worlds: the versatile, practical performance and spacious interior of the NV200 with zero emissions, extraordinary acceleration and the quiet operation of Nissan LEAF. Moreover, with its advanced telematics and standard AC electrical outlet in its cargo space, the e-NV200 offers new functionality that expands the range of potential entrepreneurial applications. On-board AC power could support, among other features, a mobile food service operation and mobile entertainment.
Nissan's Hideto Murakami, corporate vice president with responsibility for the company's LCV business, said, "Zero emission vehicles will play an increasingly important role for the environment of the cities and towns in which we live. Not only will the e-NV200 raise the quality of urban life, it will also be very attractive to businesses seeking to reduce fleet operating cost. This transformational technology will benefit everyone."
Iconic EV Styling
While retaining the styling contours of the globally popular NV200, Nissan added design cues shared with Nissan LEAF to bestow the Nissan EV visual identity on the e-NV200. These include the front charging ports and V-shaped hood familiar from the iconic fascia of Nissan LEAF.
Inside the cabin, Nissan EV design is expressed in bright colors echoing the Nissan LEAF interior, with a tablet-like flat panel center cluster, EV instrumentation and other innovative details.
Advantages of e-NV200
The e-NV200 is equipped with the same EV components as Nissan LEAF. Zero-emission power is supplied by a lithium-ion battery comprising 48 compact modules and a highly responsive 80kW AC synchronous motor. The AC synchronous motor delivers 100% of its torque from a standing start, creating powerful acceleration with smooth and quiet driving comfort. Together with the vehicle's low operating cost, a critical factor for business users, these benefits put the e-NV200 ahead of current gasoline-engine vehicles of the same class.
Innovative, Driver-focused Functionality in a Spacious Interior
Since it is based on the NV200 multipurpose van, the e-NV200 offers generous cargo and cabin space within a compact body. A low, flat floor and high ceiling provide an environment in which it is easy to work. These and other innovations make the e-NV200 convenient.
The cargo compartment is equipped with a standard AC electric outlet. This can power tools, appliances and other devices wherever and whenever needed, thereby creating new opportunities for business.
The e-NV200 will be available with new IT services which will help contribute to cost-reduction and help increase security benefits for business. Subscribers to the services will have access to key information including maintenance data, which can help management potentially reduce operating costs and help raise driver awareness of safer driving habits. This can potentially contribute to the safety record of the enterprise, while providing real benefits to the bottom line.
The e-NV200 will be displayed, as a reference exhibit at this year's Tokyo Motor Show.
The e-NV200 is highly qualified to serve as a working partner for business owners seeking an advanced LCV that will benefit the bottom line, the community and the planet.
