Intelligent LI assists drivers to prevent lane departure
If there is a risk of leaving the driving lane*, the system displays an alert on the dashboard and plays a warning chime**. The system also assists the driver to avoid leaving the driving lane by applying the brakes.
How the technology works
The system uses a camera to confirm whether the vehicle is within the white (or yellow) lane markers. If there is a risk of leaving the driving lane*, the system displays an alert on the dashboard and plays a warning chime. The system also assists the driver to avoid leaving the driving lane by applying braking force to each wheel***.
(1) The system detects the white (or yellow) lane markers using a camera located in the upper portion of the windshield.
(2) If the system determines that the car is getting close to the white (or yellow) lane markers, it plays a warning chime and the LI indicator located within the dashboard flashes**
(3) The system also applies braking force to each wheel*** to help return the vehicle to its original lane, assisting the driver to remain within the lane.
