Compact
March (Micra in overseas countries) has been Nissan's No.1 compact car since it was rolled out in 1982. The first generation was exhibited as a concept car "NX-018" at Tokyo Motor Show in 1981 and, after a major advertising campaign for the name, rolled out in October 1982.
Economically efficient and user-friendly basic performance and plain but fashionable styling attracted mainly active women. Collet, with fancier interior such as plaid textile for seats and vanity mirrors attached to sun visors on driver's and passenger's seats, became popular among a wide range of drivers.
