Datsun 2000 Sports(1967: SR311)

The first generation Datsun Fairlady SPL212 and 213 were exclusively for export. The second generation was released in Japan in 1962 as "Fairlady 1500 SP310" with 1500cc engine on chassis for Bluebird. It evolved into 1600 (SP311) with 1600cc engine in 1965 and 2000 (SR311) with 2000cc engine in 1967. U20 engine of 4-cyl. OHC generated 145ps. It took only 15.4 seconds to run 400m starting from rest and the max speed was 205km/h. It was the fastest domestic car.
It was equipped with torque rod for rear suspension to cope with powerful engine and laminated glasses and three-point type seatbelts for safety. This car is "Datsun 2000 Sports," an early model for Australia.
