March (Micra in overseas) is a Nissan's leading compact car and the second generation March K11 was released in 1992. Its gentle styling of high quality got favorable reviews. The expected model life was unusual 10 years, which meant it had to have appealing characteristics.
The lineup was; bodies of 3-door and 5-door and engines of 1000cc and 1300cc. Nissan's first continuously variable transmission system N·CVT was one of options.
The production of Micra K11 was started in UK in 1993. It became the first Japanese car of European Car Of The Year and became a big hit. This car is "i-z" with optional N·CVT, Viscous LSD, ABS, etc.
