Sedan
Laurel opened the personally-owned car market in Japan when it was rolled out in 1968. The third generation in 1977 was a model designed on the concept of "a sophisticated, stately, luxurious, and fashionable car for owners of upper class".
The lineup was traditional 2-door hardtop and 4-door sedan, and "4-door hardtop" with no B pillars. This "4-door hardtop" is a body structure first introduced in Japan for NISSAN "Cedric / Gloria" in 1972. It became a popular category that realized beautiful form, sense of openness, comfortableness, and utility, and created a trend in the personally-owned car market in Japan that lasted for decades.
