Nissan Laurel Givenchy Version (1982: HC31)

The fourth-generation Laurel C31 Series released in 1980 was a luxury sedan with aerodynamic styling and high basic performance. From 1981 the world-renowned fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy served as the image character, and furthermore in 1982, a limited release of 500 "Givenchy version" cars was made in collaboration with the Givenchy brand.

The car here is the favorite car of Shotaro Shimomura, the 12th generation head of the Shimomura family known for founding the Daimaru department store chain. The car has a piece of trivia related to it, for on the occasion of the 30-year Givenchy retrospective in 1983, Givenchy himself, who was a close friend of Shimomura, and the actor Audrey Hepburn, who was visiting Japan for the first time, rode in the car between Itami Airport and the Shimomura residence (Daimaru Villa in Kyoto).

After the owner passed, it was preserved in the garage of the Daimaru Villa, and in 2022, it was generously donated to Nissan Heritage Collection.
