Nissan March Super Turbo (1990: EK10)

The first-generation March released in 1982 was a compact car based on an original styling layout draft by Italdesign led by Giorgetto Giugiaro from Italy, the maestro of car design. The lifespan of the product was unusually long at around 10 years, and additional releases were made from time to time, like the Canvas Top, the Turbo, and the 5-door car.

The Super Turbo here is the road car version of the March R rally car and in consideration of participation in competition, its displacement has been daringly shrunk to 930cc from a normal 987cc to keep it in the 1.6l class even if a turbo coefficient of 1.4 is applied. Also, it is equipped with a supercharger and a turbocharger with differing characteristics, and is set up to achieve high output from low to high revolution. This March Super Turbo was the only commercially available car in Japan to have this kind of twin charging engine.
