Skyline 2000 Turbo RS (1983: DR30)

The 6th generation Skyline R30 released in 1981 was called “Newman Skyline” because Paul Newman, an actor and racing driver, appeared as a poster boy. A new face “2000 RS” with “FJ20” engine of 4-cyl. 4-valve DOHC became very popular along with 2000GT Turbo since the 5th generation. “Turbo RS” with turbo-charged FJ20 engine made a debut in 1983. Its max. output was 190ps which was the highest of all the Skyline cars in generations. Although its sales copy was “Most powerful Skyline ever,” it didn't proclaim itself “GT-R.”
This car is “2000 Turbo RS” with horizontal grills in the earlier days. The model was used in very popular police dramas televised in Japan in 1980s.
