Born in 1960 in Nagoya. Lives and works in Tokyo and Berlin. He is known for surrounding public monuments and transforming into settings such as hotel rooms. Recent works includes "Discovering Columbus" (2012), a living room constructed around a statue of Christopher Columbus In Manhattan, "Nakanoshima Hotel", a public toilet in Osaka transformed into a hotel room, and "The Merlion Hotel" (2011), a hotel room constructed around the Merlion in Singapore. Other major exhibitions include "Aichi Triennale" (2010), "Cheri in the sky" Maison Hermes (Tokyo, 2006), "Ecstasy" MOCA (LA, 2005) and "Yokohama Triennale".
