As a super ultra-low emission vehicle (SULEV), its exhaust was said to be cleaner than average city air. In 2003 in Japan, the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy, another SULEV, became the first domestic vehicle to be certified as emitting 75% less pollution than 2005 emission standards, providing demonstrating the company’s technological excellence. Nissan also focused on accumulating valuable expertise by developing electric vehicles (EV).142000-2007
