Nissan Agrees to Transfer Nissan Leasing Companyfs
Leasing Business to IBJ Leasing

Tokyo ... Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced today that it has agreed to transfer the leasing business of Nissan Leasing Co., Ltd., the companyfs wholly owned subsidiary, to IBJ Leasing Co., Ltd.

Nissan Leasing is engaged in leasing equipment and office machines and in extending financing services mainly to Nissan group companies. Nissan Leasing will spin off its leasing business into a new company and transfer 90% of the equity in the new company to IBJ Leasing. The new company will take over all of Nissan Leasingfs equipment leasing business. Signing of a formal agreement and the transfer of the equity stake will take place in February 1999.

This move is in line with Nissanfs ongoing initiative of running gbusiness operations by focusing resources on selected areas,h as set forth in the Business Reform Plan unveiled in May. Because IBJ Leasing boasts the industryfs highest level of expertise, it will be able to provide more efficient and expanded services to Nissan group companies. In addition, this deal will do much to cut Nissanfs interest-bearing liabilities.
