Nissan To Show Appraisal Loss of Its Marketable Securities

This is to announce that Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has come in with the following appraisal loss of its marketable securities because of a fall in the stock market as of the end of the first half of the current fiscal year ending in March 1999, and that the loss is to be listed under special losses in statements of income.
The company uses the “lower of cost or market value method” to evaluate the kinds of marketable securities that are subject to the market.

The company will announce a revised estimate of its financial results for the first half as soon as it puts together the figures.
