NOTES:

  1. Nissan's domestic production in November was down 13.5% from a year ago to 105,893 units, the fifth consecutive year-on-year decrease. Overseas production in November jumped 26.6% to 118,141 units, marking the 16th consecutive year-on-year increase. Nissan's production volume increased year-on-year at all of the four major overseas plants. As a result, Nissan's global production came to 224,034 units, up 3.8%, representing the 10th consecutive year-on-year increase.
  2. Nissan's domestic sales in November were 57,579 units, down a slight 0.2%, marking the first year-on-year decrease in 2 months. Sales were strong in November on the back of such models as the new Bluebird Sylphy, the new X-TRAIL, and the Cube and the Sunny which were minor changed in September, 2000. Nissan's domestic market share was 16.8%, down 0.8 points from the level of November, 1999.
  3. Nissan's exports in November decreased 12.7% to 48,688 units, representing the third consecutive year-on-year decrease. This decrease was mainly due to the Almera for the European market, which was switched from exports from Japan to local production in the UK earlier this year. However, exports to the Asian and Oceanian markets marked a double digit increase from November 1999.
