Nissan Announces the Order Progress of the New Bluebird Sylphy

-- Its orders had reached 8,500 units in the first month after its launch --

Tokyo Oct. 3 -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that the orders of the new Bluebird Sylphy, launched on Aug. 30, had reached approximately 8,500 units, resulting from strong initial sales.
"J-ULEV," certified as the cleanest exhaust emission level specified under the Ministry of Transport's low-emission vehicle certification system, has been favorably received and accounts for 60% of Bluebird Sylphy sales.

1. Orders (Release: on Aug. 30, Monthly sales target: 3,000 units)

Total orders have already reached approximately 8,500 units. (as of Sep. 29)

The Bluebird Sylphy has been favorably received for;
  1. exterior and interior design giving owners a high level of quality
  2. superb drivability and convenience from its "just right" body size for day-to-day activities
  3. advanced environmental technologies of its "J-ULEV" engine

Due to the strong start of the Bluebird Sylphy and other Nissan vehicles, Nissan's Kyushu Plant will be adding shifts to increase production in Oct.
