Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., in accordance with Renault, and the main banks of Nissan Diesel have discussed together on the full implementation of Nissan Diesel restructuring plan now in progress with the view of reinforcing its financial situation and opening up new business opportunities. The items covered include :

• Strengthening the business plan of Nissan Diesel
  
• Implementing a cooperation program with Renault VI
  
• Commitment facilities extending over 4 years current loan balance with the main banks
  
• Non core asset sales and securitization of commercial and industrial assets
  
• Reinforcing the management team of Nissan Diesel
  
• Cash injection of an order of magnitude of 10 billion yen through a convertible bond issue and other means
  

This program will be finalized and agreed upon among the interested parties by around the end of January 2000.
