TOKYO - -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Today announced its production, domestic sales, and export results for September 1999 and the first half of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2000.

1. Production, domestic sales and export results for September 1999

(1) Production

Nissan's domestic production in September decreased 6.7 % to 137,527 units, posting the 10 th year - on-year monthly decrease.
Overseas production was up 13.0 % to 95,984 from a year earlier, marking the 2 nd straight month of year - on-year increase.

(2) Domestic Sales

Nissan's domestic sales in September was down 5.5 % to 83,844 units compared with those for September 1998, marking the first month of year - on-year decrease in two months.
Nissan's market share was up 0.8 % points to 21.5 % compared with the corresponding month of last year.

(3) Vehicle Exports

Nissan's exports in September 1999 were down 9.1 % to 63,525 units, marking the 6 th year - on-year monthly decrease.

2. Production, domestic sales and export results from April 1 to Sep. 30, 1999

(1) Production

Domestic production for the first half of the current fiscal year decreased 11.7 % to 659,045 units from the previous year. However, overseas production for the first half of the fiscal year 1999 was up 4.0 % to 503,483 units from the same period of last year.

(2) Domestic Sales

Nissan's domestic sales for the first half of the current fiscal year were down 14.8 % to 370,281 units from a year earlier.
Nissan's market share in the domestic market declined 1.2 % points from the level of the previous year to 19.7 %.

(3) Vehicle Exports

Nissan's exports in the first half of the current fiscal year were 308,453 units, representing a decrease of 10.5 % from the previous year.
