Quality you can feel

If it is not beautiful, then is cannot be a Nissan Our aim is to achieve quality that captivates the customer at their first encounter with a Nissan.

Giving both the exterior and interior a sense of quality that appeals to the customer

The sum total of a vehicle's exterior contours — the body, doors, bumpers and headlamps — defines its external beauty.
Once the door is opened, the eyes take in the interior and the hands instinctively reach out to touch. Nissan applies rigid standards of evaluation to ensure that the customer can immediately sense and appreciate a vehicle's quality.

So precise, so square: in search of ultimate beauty and perfection

The gaps and joints where parts and components meet visually impacts a vehicle's exterior look.
Such gaps exist between the doorframes and the joints between the headlamps and body.
To make a car more attractive, these gaps must be refined and the width of the lines kept uniform and well aligned. Strict standards are set for each gap and joint, and we check these meticulously.
The visible quality of the finished product attests to this attention to detail.

A customer can perceive greater beauty in a car when a vehicle has achieved a higher standard of quality.

Is it beautiful? The perception of beauty is extremely subjective, so detailed appraisals are necessary when establishing standards. At Nissan, numerous in-house monitors set the evaluation criteria first, and then company-trained specialists carry out the assessments. With each new model introduction, we collect data from the customer's perspective through initial customer surveys to find out what influenced their choice. When the feedback indicates a need for improvements, these changes are incorporated during the next minor change program. This continually raises the level of perceived quality*.

  • * "Perceived quality" refers to elements a person can see or otherwise sense. At Nissan, we focus on enhancing both perceived quality and quality that is not immediately perceivable, such as vehicle gaps and joints. In this way, we continually elevate the sense of quality that Nissan customers can appreciate.
