PRODUCTION, SALES AND EXPORT RESULTS FOR NOVEMBER - Record November as global production grew 14.9% -
TOKYO (December 26, 2007)—Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced production, sales and export figures for November 2007.
1.Production
Nissan’s global production grew 14.9% year-on-year to 335,088 units, marking an all-time record for the month of November.
In Japan, the Infiniti G35 sedan, G37 coupe (Skyline sedan/Skyline coupe in Japan), the new Rogue and the new X-Trail contributed to increased production. Total domestic production grew 16.5% to 123,732 units, compared to the previous year.
Overseas production grew 13.9% year-on-year to 211,356 units, marking a record production month for its plants worldwide.
In the US, the Altima contributed to increased production growing year-on-year by 4.5%, to 67,687 units.
In Mexico, the Versa (Tiida in Japan) led the production increase with overall production rising 4.2% to 41,183 units.
In the UK, Qashqai (Dualis in Japan) contributed to a production growth of 20.2% year-on-year to 33,677 units.
Production in Spain fell 4.1% year-on-year to 21,173 units.
Production in other regions rose 52.7% year-on-year to 47,636 units, mainly due to demand for the Livina in China, Frontier Navara in Thailand, Grand Livina in Indonesia, as well as increased production of the Tiida and Bluebird Sylphy in China.
2.Sales
In Japan, Nissan’s registrations in November rose 2.2% year-on-year to 42,755 units due to strong demand for the all-new X-Trail launched in August, the Serena and Elgrand. Domestic sales of mini-vehicles were down 2.3% from the previous year to 11,090 units. Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 53,845 units in Japan, up 1.2% year-on-year.
The company’s share of the domestic market registrations in November was down 0.2 percentage points year-on-year to 14.4%, while the corresponding market share including mini-vehicles rose 0.1 percentage point to 11.9%.
Sales of new vehicles in the US grew 6.1%* year-on-year to 80,683 units, boosted by increased sales of the Rogue crossover, Versa, Altima and Infiniti G35 sedan/G37 coupe.
In Europe, strong performance from the Qashqai and X-Trail continued to boost Nissan sales to 49,168 units, exceeding the previous year by 14.5%.
*US sales: 6.1% after equivalent adjustment for actual days of selling in November.
3.Japan Exports
Nissan’s exports in November rose 33.6% to 75,311 units year-on-year.
Exports to North America rose 47.8% year-on-year to 35,377 units.
Exports to Europe rose 23.2% year-on-year to 4,905 units.
