Response to the Automobile Recycling Law

Nissan dealers' activities are already covered by a number of laws and regulations, but with the introduction of the Automobile Recycling Law in January 2005 employees need to understand this law in general but also know the background of the law and a breakdown of fees so that they can fulfill their responsibility of explaining it to customers. One of the first things we did after the Automobile Recycling Law was introduced was to produce and distribute an original "Service Response Manual" based on it. At the same time, we held information sessions in all areas to provide information on how the law relates to daily work. We also established an exclusive Recycling Law information desk to complete this comprehensive system, enabling swift responses to questions from sales companies. Nissan is also making effective use of our bulletin, "Green-Cycle Communication." First published in 1998, this bulletin provides timely environmental reports to sales companies, and features series of articles about the new Recycling Law along with other understandable and useful information.

Incorporation to the Nissan Green Shop Certification System

To ensure that the Recycling Law is followed closely, we have added the law's provisions to the Nissan Green Shop audit items.
