NISSAN DESIGN FORUM "IMAGINATION FACTORY"

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Honest Motors Ltd., in collaboration with the Hong Kong Design Centre and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University held the first-time Nissan Design Forum, themed "Imagination Factory", in Hong Kong from 11th to 16th December 2007.
Nissan was the first auto-maker to hold such a dedicated event to share the behind-the-scene works of automotive designers to the publics in Hong Kong. The objective of this Forum was to create an interactive platform for Nissan's designers to share the processes of automotive design with aspiring design students and designers in Hong Kong.

The Nissan Design Forum and Exhibition - "Imagination Factory" Asian tour continues with its 4th event this year in Malaysia from August 3 - 5.
Jointly organised by Nissan Motor Ltd and Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd, the Malaysia event scores a number of "firsts".
Display panels were open to the public after the press day. We will report this event mainly focusing on the press day.

The 3rd Design Forum was held at the Malls at Oriental Plaza, a shopping mall located in central Beijing for 3 days from June 29th to July 1st.
Prior to the event, posters announcing the event were posted at universities and dealers, along with advance notice on the NISSAN website, which added excitement to this first-time-ever event held in China.
Display panels were open to the public after the press day. We will report this event mainly focusing on the press day.

The 2nd event of NISSAN DESIGN FORUM "IMAGINATION FACTORY" was held on May 23rd - 27th in the Eslite Bookstore in Taipei, Taiwan.
The first day (press day) started from a media interview and ended with the reception party in the evening.
Display panels were open to the public after the press day. We will report this event mainly focusing on the press day.

Nissan's New Design Center

The design center in Atsugi-shi, Kanagawa was renovated for the first time in this 25 years and unveiled to domestic and foreign media for 4 days, on December 12-15, 2006. This new design center was the climax of our facility renovation activities started in 2002. It has about 42,000 square meter, which is 1.5 times larger than the previous design center and more than 600 people are working there. Today we will report the unveiling event to you.

This time, we features Mr. Toshiyuki Abe, who was assigned to serve as an instructor of this first long-term program. He spent about 2 months with the students who participated in this program and witnessed their growth. Mr. Abe himself is a professional designer in the concept car design group of Nissan Motor Com. Here we asked him what you can learn from this internship program and its merits from a professional viewpoint.

Long-waited "NISSAN DESIGN Offsite Internship" started. The final presentation as the wrap-up of the first long-term program, our inaugural program, was held on Aug. 11th, 2006. In this report, we will look back on the progress of this 2 month program with the focus on the final presentation.
