The 3^rd Design Forum was held at the Malls at Oriental Plaza, a shopping mall located in central Beijing for 3 days from June 29^th to July 1^st. Prior to the event, posters announcing the event were posted at universities and dealers, along with advance notice on the NISSAN website, which added excitement to this first-time-ever event held in China.
The event in Beijing was part I of the exhibit circuit in China, followed by the same event to be held in 9 cities until the end of December.

A press event for the Chinese media was held on June 29^th, the first day of the event.
First, Koji NAGANO Project Design Director (hereinafter PDD) representing design explained the NISSAN design mentality and the intention of this event. Next, 2 clay modelers actively involved with NISSAN DESIGN, Akira NAKAJIMA and Etsu JINNAI, demonstrated clay modeling.

After the press briefing, 10 students from 5 universities in Beijing and Shanghai participated in a workshop with the theme "neo-futuristic car design most suitable for the Chinese lifestyle". The NISSAN designers and the local designers participating in the discussion as panelists spoke about their impression freely and enthusiastically. The workshop was facilitated in an excellent atmosphere resembling an academic exchage.
In closing, a certification and a commemorative plaque was presented to the student representative from NAGANO PDD.

An active local industrial designer Mr. Gu Chuanxi, architectural designer Mr. Wang Hui and Mr. He Jianwei discussed with NAGANO PDD concerning "global design & local design".
The panelists talked about their idea of globalization and localization in their design field. The panelists also introduced their individual achievement and expressed thier constructive vision of future design trend. The media and students listened attentively to the hot discussion by professionals with different occupational and ethnic background for an hour and a half.

After the event on the 1^st, a social gathering was held in a Hunan restauran "South Beauty", located inside of the Malls at Oriental Plaza. Students who participated in the panel discussion, panel discussion MC Mr. Xu Xiaodong, industrial designer Mr. Gu Chuanxi, NAGANO PDD, and clay modeler Mr. JINNAI joined together and deepened their exchange

From June 30^th to July 1^st, the exhibition booth was opened to the public.
There were many young generation and families, especially beginning family with a small child. We have seen many people enthusiastically looking at the panels.
A moment where we were able to get a glimpse of high sensitivity to design in China.
In addition, a modeling hands-on event was held for students.
The students had stars in their eyes as modeling work can rarely be experienced.
The scene of this event was opened to the public and attracted a large number of people.
