“Nissan President Fund” – Restoring Hope to Children in Disaster Areas.

The Nissan President’s Fund was established in 2011, with activities designed to leverage donations secured through the efforts of Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

A certified nonprofit organization, the Japan NPO Center has conducted various charitable activities for children affected by the earthquake, cooperating with other NPOs in a variety of fields, as well as child welfare facilities such as children’s homes and after-school day care centers.

One is the "Play Plus One Program," which coordinates various NPOs that are based outside of the affected prefectures. These NPOs offer diverse expertise in creative youth programs, which they bring to children’s playgrounds in Iwate Prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture and Fukushima Prefecture.

Another program is the “Let’s Go Out Program,” which provides experiential learning and play activities, taking advantage of long school holidays to take children on activities outside the prefectures affected by the disaster.
