Karuizawa Arts Festival 2007


Nissan supported Karuizawa Arts Festival 2007, which was held from 20 to 26 August, 2007 in Karuizawa, Nagano prefecture.

Nissan Monozukuri Caravan


"Nissan Monozukuri Caravan" is a visiting style educational program for elementary school fifth grade students in Kanagawa Prefecture, to allow them to experience the fun of Monozukuri.

Nissan Hosts Environmental Class at Yokohama's Honcho Elementary School


On March 6, 2007, Nissan hosted a class on the environment at Honcho Elementary School in Yokohama, featuring a demonstration of its "2005 Model X-TRAIL FCV" fuel cell vehicle.

The 15th NISSAN Joyful Storybook and Picture Book Exhibition

Nissan started this event in 1992 in Kodomo no Shiro, in order to provide the joyful space where children can enjoy playing with creativeness. We had this event from March 24th to April 5th in this year. In the event space, many excellent storybooks and picture books are displayed for visitors to read, and the workshop space was provided for children to do the simple art works, with the support by many Nissan volunteer members and university students. The seat fabrics for trial vehicles are used as the materials in workshop.

The 23rd Nissan Children's Storybook and Picture Book Grand Prix awards ceremony held (March 11, 2007)


The awards ceremony for the 23rd Nissan Children's Storybook and Picture Book Grand Prix was held at the auditorium of the International Institute for Children's Literature, Osaka, on Sunday, March 11, 2007. This year boasted 2,108 children's storybook entries and 553 picture book entries. Among these, 38 authors were honored, including Storybook Grand Prize winner Ms. Hitomi Otsuka and Picture Book Grand Prize winner Mr. Shinya Tomita.

Nissan donates "Children's Storybook and Picture Book Grand Prix" books to public libraries


The Nissan Children's Storybook and Picture Book Grand Prix is one of the many corporate citizenship initiatives undertaken by the company. The Grand Prix comprise of two main categories -- children's storybook and picture book. There are many sub-categories of prizes with total of 38 winners selected from the numerous entries received each year. The two grand-prize winning entries are published over an approximately 10-month period for commercial retailing.

Introduction of Environmental Efforts at the Oppama Plant and Research Center


Nissan has assisted with the Environmental Volunteering School, which is jointly hosted by the Waseda University Hirayama Ikuo Memorial Volunteer Center (WAVOC) and the Eco-Future Committee of Waseda University.
