Activity reports from participants in the ninth term of the "Nissan-NPO Learning Scholarship Program"

Ninth-term participants in the "Nissan-NPO Learning Scholarship Program" began their activities in July.
The participants are approaching the half-way point of their activities which will go until the end of next February.
This report covers visits to the activity sites of two ninth-term participants, and their pre-activity orientation and activities.
Nissan FCV comes to junior high schools (Nov 15, 2006)

The weather was clear for the X-TRAIL FCV 2005's November 15 visit to Kobayashi Junior High School in Tochigi Prefecture.
Implementation Report from volunteers Sailing Boat Event for students from schools for the blind

Summer break is one of the most favorite times of the year for kids. Volunteers from the Nissan Yacht Club have been supporting the summer event called "Sailing Boat Event" to provide children from schools for the blind with an opportunity to enjoy sailing and swimming during the summer holiday. This time, we'll introduce a volunteer report from employees(Hiroyuki Saito and Emi Kawasumi) who have been supporting this event using Nissan financial support program for volunteer activities.
Nissan Holds World Refugee Day Futsal Tournament 2006 at Nissan Stadium (June 25, 2006)

The United Nations General Assembly has designated June 20 as World Refugee Day for the purpose of promoting understanding with regard to refugees. In recognition of this endeavor, on June 25th, Nissan along with the Waseda University Volunteer Center (WAVOC) held the World Refugee Day Futsal Tournament 2006 in order to promote interaction between refugees residing in Japan and Japanese people through sports activity.
Nissan-NPO Learning Scholarship Program: Nissan holds completion ceremony for eighth-term participants and start-up seminar for ninth-term participants (July 04, 2006)

This year, the Nissan-NPO Learning Scholarship Program has entered its ninth year. Recently on July 4, Nissan held a start-up seminar for ninth-term participants and a ceremony to congratulate eighth-term participants on their completion of the program at the Nissan Headquarters.
The 14th NISSAN Joyful Storybook and Picture Book Exhibition (March 25, 2006 - Apr 05)

Nissan started this event in 1992 in Kodomo no Shiro, in order to provide the joyful space where children can enjoy playing with creativeness. We had this event from March 25th to April 5th in this year. In the event space, many excellent storybooks and picture books are displayed for visitors to read, and the workshop space was provided for children to do the simple art works, with the support by many Nissan volunteer members and university students. The seat fabrics for trial vehicles are used as the materials in workshop.

The 22nd Nissan Children's Storybook and Picture Book Grand Prix awards ceremony was held on Sunday, March 19, 2006, in the lecture hall of the International Institute for Children's Literature, Osaka.
Donations from Nissan to the victims of Asian Earthquake/Tsunami (Jan 06, 2006)

Already 2 years passed since the Great Sumatra Earthquake and Indian Ocean Tsunami that occurred at the end of 2004. Up until now with the cooperation of all employees Nissan has carried out a variety of assistance activities under CEO Ghosn's directive to, "provide not mere financial donations, but mid- and long-term assistance that takes into account the actual needs at locations and actually reaches the victims."
Here we report on the use of the more than 100 million yen in tsunami relief assistance pledged immediately after the earthquake and tsunami occurred, and the whole picture of Nissan's aid for suffering areas of Indian Ocean Tsunami.
