In 1992, Nissan put forth its environmental philosophy using the phrase symbiosis of people, vehicles and nature. Following on this philosophy, Nissan launched the "Nissan Green Program 2010" in 2006 with the aim to become a "sincere eco innovator" for the planet and future genearations. Under these commitments, the company continues its efforts to contribute to a sustainable society. Under its corporate citizenship activities, environmental friendliness has been one of of its major pillars.
