The Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies was established at Oxford University in the United Kingdom in 1981 with a contribution from Nissan. Today, the institutes is widely known as one of the principal centers for modern Japanese studies in Europe and contributes significantly to the promotion of better mutual understanding between Japan and Europe.
