Nissan Motor Co.,Ltd is working with Habitat for Humanity Japan, a regional branch of Habitat for Humanity International, to support areas affected by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Nissan and Habitat Japan jointly organized volunteer tours in 2012. From September to November, Nissan dispatched 4 volunteer teams to Ofunato city in Iwate prefecture and some 90 employees participated in volunteer activity. Requested by the residents, the team members built a storage cabin to keep relief supplies, and also made some benches and flower stands for the residents to improve lives in temporary housing.
To support home repairing project, we held house repair activity three times at Misato-machi and Wakuya-machi in Miyagi Prefecture in 2014. Total of 30 Nissan employees participated as volunteers.
