Beginning in July 2008, Nissan started its "Nissan Waku-Waku Eco School" to teach children about the various environmental issues that we face today. With its philosophy "symbiosis of people, vehicles and nature" the company is working with Weather Caster Network (http://www.weathercaster.jp/) in helping motivate children to get involved in various environmental activities in a fun and enjoyable way.
Consisting of three sessions, the first will be a lecture on global warming given by partner Weather Caster Network. The second and third sessions will be conducted by Nissan, in which the children get to assemble a model fuel-cell car kit and get a chance to ride the company's innovative fuel-cell vehicle, the new "X-TRAIL FCV". Through this series of events, the program wishes to instill among the future generation a general concern for the environment and demonstrate the potential that clean energy has for them.
